• HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY WINDOWS CLEANED?

  Talking residential ideally, every season since A) you want to enjoy your view and be able to let the light inside your home in the most efficient way instead of having to turn up lamps and use electricity, and B) you want to avoid mineral deposit build up on your glasses.

  This second point is often overlooked as it is not as obvious, but more difficulty of cleaning, different “spots” and breaking of the light, etc. will be the signs of this.

  When it gets really bad you can feel the deposits with your finger or fingernail on the surface of the window glass.

  Realistically, however many times you can afford it but at least twice a year. Note that the more often windows are cleaned the easier it is to do which means cheaper price on your end.

  Commercial windows need it more often (monthly, bi-weekly, weekly) but that is a separate industry in itself.

• HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

  Probably less than you think. In fact many customers are pleasantly surprised at the affordability of having their windows professionally cleaned.

You're not even “allowed” to step over your balcony rail to work on your flat roof, for example.

• WILL MY WINDOWS GET DIRTY IF IT RAINS AFTER YOU CLEAN THEM?

  No, rain doesn’t make windows dirty. Dirt, insects, pollen, and other pollutants do. If these are present on the glass when it rains, the rain simply attaches itself to the dirt and often makes the windows look even worse. But rain doesn't clean your windows either – if it did Vancouver and area would have clean windows all the time with the frequent rains we're seeing there.
  However if the windows had been clean, then the rain would simply sheet off the clean glass and they would continue to remain clean. In fact, windows tend to get dirtier in the winter time, since unlike rain, snow sticks to the window and leaves the dirty residue behind when it melts. That is why a year round maintenance schedule is important.
